HP OMEN 25L Gaming Desktop GT15-1000 upgrades

Released 2023 · on sale

Two board revisions share this chassis: GT15-0xxx (H670, 12th Gen factory CPU) and GT15-1000i/1000jp (H770, 13th Gen factory CPU). Slot counts are identical; check the factory CPU and SSID via serial number before buying upgrades. CPU is socketed (not BGA). Motherboard, front-panel wiring and RGB headers are HP-proprietary if you plan a case swap. PSU varies (600 W or 800 W Gold).

4x DDR5-5200 UDIMM, 128 GB max 4 × DDR5 DIMM · up to 128 GB total · 5200 MT/s

4x 288-pin DDR5 UDIMM only (HP's 'DDR4' wording on some support pages is a copy-paste error). Install in pairs for dual channel. HP warns non-HP modules may run at JEDEC DDR5-4800 instead of XMP 5200, since the BIOS gives limited XMP control. No soldered memory; 128 GB needs 64-bit Windows.

2x M.2 2280 NVMe Gen4 + 1 SATA bay 3 × SSD / HDD M.2 2280 / 2.5" / 3.5" (NVMe / SATA) · max 9.5 mm thick

Two M.2 2280 Key M slots are NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 (double-sided drives fit); the third M.2 2230 Key A slot is WLAN only. One shared 2.5"/3.5" SATA bay (2.5" drives up to 9.5 mm) — not both sizes at once. A second SATA drive needs a separate caddy and cable. No documented capacity ceiling; Gen5 SSDs run at Gen4 speed.

LGA1700 socketed, 12th-14th Gen Intel LGA1700 · Core 12th gen, Core 13th gen, Core 14th gen

Socketed LGA1700 on H670 (GT15-0xxx) / H770 (GT15-1000i). HP documents 13th→14th Gen upgrades for GT15-1000i with BIOS F.20+ (SSID 8B1D); 12th-Gen GT15-0xxx upgrade support was not published. Only 65 W F-series parts are offered and cooling is sized for them — 125 W K chips not supported. Verify your exact SSID/variant first.
