Acer Nitro 5 AN515-45 upgrades
Released 2021 · on sale
CPU is soldered BGA (FP6) — Ryzen 5 5600H / 7 5800H / 9 5900HX (Cezanne, Ryzen 5000H) are not replaceable and there is no CPU upgrade path, so no CPU slot is listed. No memory card reader or optical drive. Do not confuse with AN515-44 (Ryzen 4000) or AN515-58 (12th-gen Intel), which have different slot limits.

2× SO-DIMM DDR4 (260-pin) 2 × DDR4 SO-DIMM · up to 32 GB total · 3200 MT/s
Both slots socketed, no soldered RAM. Buy modules in pairs for dual-channel; single sticks run single-channel and hurt Ryzen gaming. Use DDR4-3200 CL22 1.2 V non-ECC SO-DIMM (PC4-25600); faster modules clock down. Acer/Kingston validate 32 GB (2x16 GB), but LaptopMedia reports 2x32 GB = 64 GB works in the field — buy from a retailer with easy returns and verify POST if you need 64 GB.

2x M.2 2280 + 1x 2.5" SATA bay 3 × SSD / HDD M.2 2280 / 2.5" (NVMe / SATA) · max 7 mm thick
Both M.2 slots are PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe (Gen4 drives work but run at Gen3 speed). Only ONE of the two M.2 slots also accepts SATA M.2 drives; the other is PCIe-only. The 2.5" SATA bay requires the SATA cable/bracket, said to ship in the box but not in all SKUs — verify before buying a 2.5" drive. 2.5" drives must be 7 mm thick; 15 mm will not fit. No documented maximum drive capacity; 2 TB (and generally 4 TB) NVMe drives work.
