Valve Steam Deck upgrades
The 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM is soldered (5500 MT/s on LCD, 6400 MT/s on OLED) and cannot be upgraded. The internal M.2 2230 SSD is socketed but not officially intended for end-user replacement; microSD is the easy way to expand storage.

Socketed 2230 NVMe module (PCIe Gen 3 x4; some 256/512 GB LCD units shipped with Gen 3 x2). Valve says it is not intended for end-user replacement, though it can be swapped for repair. No documented maximum capacity; largest factory option is 1 TB (OLED). Unclear whether the 64 GB eMMC LCD model has a populated M.2 socket, so check a teardown first.

microSD slot Flash card microSD (SD (UHS))
UHS-I only (SD, SDXC, SDHC), so slower than internal NVMe. Cards are formatted as ext4, erasing existing data. This is the officially recommended way to add storage.
