Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 (Intel) upgrades
Only the SO-DIMM and the single M.2 SSD are user-upgradable; the 8GB or 16GB of soldered RAM is fixed. Both are customer-replaceable after removing the base cover.
- DDR4 SO-DIMM slot (plus soldered memory): DDR4 SO-DIMM · 16 GB soldered · up to 48 GB total · 3200 MT/s
- M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD slot: SSD M.2 2242 / M.2 2280 (NVMe) · up to 2.048 TB
DDR4 SO-DIMM slot (plus soldered memory) DDR4 SO-DIMM · 16 GB soldered · up to 48 GB total · 3200 MT/s
Soldered memory is 8GB or 16GB depending on configuration and cannot be changed. Max total is 40GB (8GB soldered) or 48GB (16GB soldered). The 32GB per-module limit is inferred from Lenovo's totals. Non-ECC, unbuffered is assumed, not confirmed. Populate the slot for dual-channel.

M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD slot SSD M.2 2242 / M.2 2280 (NVMe) · up to 2.048 TB
Slot is PCIe 3.0 x4; PCIe 4.0 SSDs are downgraded to near Gen3 speed, so Gen4 gives no benefit. Max is 2TB for 2280 and 256GB for 2242. Maximums are based on Lenovo testing and larger drives may work. No SATA, 2.5" bay or card slot is listed.
