Tower server with a single-socket, 16-slot DDR5 RDIMM design; memory ceiling depends on the installed Xeon generation (1 TB on 4th Gen, 1.5 TB on 5th Gen). Spec sources disagree on some capacities, so check the current HPE QuickSpecs for your exact configuration.

Use HPE DDR5 Smart Memory RDIMMs only. 1.5 TB (16x96 GB, DDR5-5600) needs a 5th Gen Xeon; 4th Gen tops out at 1 TB (16x64 GB, DDR5-4800). Xeon 4510, 4509Y and 3508U do not support 96 GB DIMMs. 2DPC runs at 4400 MT/s. DIMM count per socket must be 1, 2, 4, 6, 8, 12 or 16.

Bay type depends on model (8 LFF, or SFF). Embedded controller covers SATA RAID only, so SAS needs an add-in controller. Older spec copies list 20 TB HDDs; current QuickSpecs list 24 TB. Not available with the NS204i-u boot device.
