HPE ProLiant DL385 Gen11 upgrades
Memory is DDR5 RDIMM only. The optional HPE NS204i-u boot device (2x 480 GB M.2 NVMe, RAID 1) is not a general M.2 slot, and its M.2 length is not stated. It can reduce the available PCIe slots. A 36-bay E3.S EDSFF NVMe option also exists on newer configurations.

24 slots need two CPUs; a one-CPU server has only 12. Use HPE DDR5 RDIMMs only (no UDIMM, LRDIMM or Persistent Memory). 4800 MT/s on 4th Gen EPYC, 6400 on 5th Gen (one QuickSpecs copy says 6000). 128/256 GB modules use different CAS timings.

12 front LFF bays; an optional mid-tray 4LFF and rear 4LFF cage bring the total to 20. Cages need specific riser kits. Confirm the bay count of the exact chassis.
