HPE ProLiant DL380 Gen11 upgrades
Memory is not soldered. Drive bay counts depend on the chassis variant (8/16/24 SFF or LFF). EDSFF NVMe cages are also listed by HPE (36 in the QuickSpecs, 20 on the store page). Sources are silent on M.2 boot devices, drive thickness limits and memory card slots.

HPE DDR5 Smart Memory RDIMMs only, 16 to 256 GB per module. 32 slots need two CPUs (16 per CPU). A single-CPU server has 16 slots. The 24SFF chassis is limited to 16 DIMMs. Real speed depends on the CPU and DIMMs per channel.

Front LFF 3.5" SAS/SATA bays 12 × HDD / SSD 3.5" (SATA / SAS)
Front LFF chassis has 8 or 12 bays. Optional mid/rear LFF cages bring the maximum to 12+4+4. Bay count depends on the configured chassis. Needs a storage controller for larger arrays.
