This is the TG01-1xxx (2020) 'Baker' LGA1200 / Intel 400-series board. The TG01 chassis also covers 9th-gen Intel (LGA1151/H370) and AMD (B550/AMD 5000G 'Erica6') boards with different RAM and CPU support - verify your exact board before buying parts. PSU (~310 W, compact HP unit with one PCIe lead) is the main GPU/CPU upgrade limiter.

Only 2 slots: buy matched 2x16 GB for dual channel. No XMP - 3200 MT/s kits clock down to 2666 (i5) or 2933 (i7/i9). HP/Kingston validate 16 GB per slot / 32 GB total; 2x32 GB (64 GB) POSTs anecdotally but is unsupported. Non-ECC unbuffered DDR4-1.2 V only. Owner-installed RAM is officially out of HP support.

M.2 Key-M is PCIe 3.0 x4 only - Gen4/Gen5 SSDs work but run at Gen3 speed. No documented capacity limit; 2 TB+ used in practice. Only NVMe is documented on this slot (no SATA M.2). The second M.2 (Key A, 2230) is for the Wi-Fi card, not storage.

HP US pages document 1 SATA HDD, while the JP chassis spec lists 2x 3.5" bays with one free - count on 1 guaranteed free bay. Drives go in the fixed caddy (9.5 mm-class). 2.5" SSDs need the 3.5" bracket or a third-party optical-bay adapter (bay is empty on most configs).

Socketed and upgradeable. HP BIOS supports only 10th-gen Comet Lake-S Celeron/Pentium/Core i3/i5/i7/i9 65 W locked parts; Rocket Lake (11th gen) is NOT supported and there is no K/overclocking. Stock cooler uses HP-specific mounting and the ~310 W PSU limits you to 65 W CPUs.
