HP Inc. HP ProBook 440 G8 Notebook PC upgrades
Released 2020 · on sale
CPU is not upgradeable: the 11th-Gen Tiger Lake-UP3 processor (Celeron/Pentium/Core i3-i7) is BGA-soldered, so there is no CPU slot. M.2 2230 is for WLAN/BT only; there is no WWAN/LTE M.2 slot on this model.

2x DDR4 SO-DIMM (260-pin), up to 16 GB each 2 × DDR4 SO-DIMM · up to 32 GB total · 3200 MT/s
Both slots are socketed (nothing soldered); 32 GB total is the hard limit - 32 GB modules are not validated. DDR4-3200 1.2V unbuffered, non-ECC only (ECC/registered SO-DIMMs won't work). Dual-channel needs a matched pair, and mixed speeds run at the slower module's rate. QuickSpecs say upgrade should be done by IT/self-maintainers; HP recommends HP-branded memory for warranty/compatibility.

1x M.2 2280 M-key PCIe NVMe Gen3 x4 SSD M.2 2280 (NVMe)
Single drive bay only - no 2.5" bay and no second M.2, so plan capacity up front. The slot is Gen3 x4, though some stock 'Value' SSDs and the Optane H10 are only Gen3 x2, so an x4 drive is a real speed upgrade. No SATA M.2 support. Factory drives are single-sided 2.3 mm; double-sided modules may not clear the chassis and there are no 2230/2242/2260 mounting points. A microSD slot exists but is a card reader, not a drive bay.
