CPU is soldered (BGA, 11th-Gen Intel Tiger Lake-H: i7-11800H / i5-11400H / i5-11260H, HM570) with no socket — not replaceable; same for the NVIDIA GPU. Realistic upgrades: 2x SO-DIMM RAM and 2x M.2 NVMe SSDs (plus the M.2 WLAN card). This 16-b0 (2021) uses DDR4 — DDR5 modules fit only later OMEN 16 generations. Card reader is microSD only. 64 GB RAM (2x32 GB) is a third-party claim, not validated by HP.

HP/Kingston validate 16 GB per slot (32 GB total). CompuRAM lists 2x32 GB kits working (64 GB total) via 32 GB dual-rank modules, but this is outside HP's spec. Install matched pairs for dual channel. Speed is CPU-capped: DDR4-3200 with i7-11800H/i5-11400H, 2933 MT/s with i5-11260H. DDR4 1.2 V unbuffered non-ECC only.

M.2 2280 M-key NVMe only; no SATA/2.5" bay. HP validates up to 1 TB per slot; larger single-sided 2280 drives generally work but are unverified. Kingston specifies single-sided drives (double-sided may not fit) and both slots require thermal pads (different shapes per slot). Factory configs include PCIe 4.0 x4 and 3.0 x4; only the primary slot is confirmed Gen4. RAID 0 (Intel RST) is a factory option.
