HP 255 G10 Notebook PC upgrades
CPU is soldered (BGA, AMD FP6) - no CPU slot and no CPU upgrade path; Zen 3 Cezanne-U refresh (7730U/7530U/7330U) and Zen 2 Mendocino (7520U/7320U) parts appear in this model. CRITICAL: memory architecture depends on CPU - 7520U/7320U models have soldered LPDDR5-5500 (4/8 GB) with no RAM upgrade possible and only 4 MB L3; 7730U/7530U/7330U models have 2 SO-DIMM slots. Only on Ryzen 7730U/7530U/7330U models ('BCL-R only'); dual-channel. 7520U/7320U models have soldered LPDDR5 and NO slots. Max is disputed: older HP docs say 16 GB, newer quickspecs say 32 GB (2x16); Crucial claims 64 GB (2x32) works but HP does not verify it. Use DDR4-3200 CL22 1.2V non-ECC unbuffered; mixed speeds run at the slowest stick. HP warns some third-party modules may not work.

Single M.2 slot; the 128 GB config ships an M.2 2230 drive, larger configs use 2280. Stock drives are PCIe 3.0 x4-class (~2300 MB/s); a 1 TB Gen4x4 option exists only in HK/TW/CN. Gen4 drives are backward compatible but add nothing on Gen3. No 2.5" bay documented. The 1 TB figure is HP's configured maximum (not a hard limit). ~30-35 GB is reserved for the recovery partition.
