Gigabyte B460M DS3H AC V2-Y1 upgrades

Released 2020 · on sale

The '-Y1' suffix is a retail/distributor code not documented by Gigabyte — assume the standard B460M DS3H AC V2 rev 1.0 unless the photo differs. Do not confuse with the non-AC B460M DS3H V2 (4 SATA ports, 22110 M.2 support, PCIe-only M.2). Memory speed is CPU-capped (2933/2666) — don't pay extra for high-MHz XMP RAM. Soldered CPU: none; CPU is socketed and user-replaceable. Soldered RAM: none; all memory is in the 4 DIMM slots.

Speed is capped by CPU: DDR4-2933 max with Core i7/i9, 2666 with i5/i3/Pentium/Celeron; XMP kits will not run above these limits. ECC UDIMMs are accepted but run in non-ECC mode; RDIMM/LRDIMM not supported. Use matched modules in DDR4_A2 + DDR4_B2 for dual channel.

Single M.2 slot (Socket 3, M key) takes either NVMe PCIe 3.0 x4/x2 or M.2 SATA. A SATA M.2 drive may disable one or more of the 6 SATA ports (check the manual's port-sharing table). No documented capacity limit; SATA RAID 0/1/5/10 via Intel RST. Drive bays/thickness limits are case-dependent.

LGA 1200 socket, 10th Gen Intel LGA1200 · Core 10th gen, Core 10th gen

AC V2 spec page lists 10th Gen Core i9/i7/i5/i3, Pentium, Celeron only; 11th Gen is claimed on the sibling non-AC B460M DS3H V2, not here. Check Gigabyte's CPU Support List and required BIOS revision before upgrading; no published TDP limit, but the entry-level B460 VRM suits 65 W parts better than 125 W K-series.
