Dell Precision 340 upgrades
Early-2000s Pentium 4 workstation with 4 RDRAM RIMM sockets and IDE-only storage. Max total memory, bay counts and max drive size are not in the sources; check Dell's User's Guide.
- RIMM socket (RDRAM, PC800): 4 × DIMM · 800 MT/s
- IDE PRI hard drive connector (parallel ATA): HDD 3.5"
RIMM socket (RDRAM, PC800) 4 × DIMM · 800 MT/s
Uses Rambus RDRAM RIMMs (64/128/256/512 MB, max 512 MB each), not DDR. 'dimm' is only the closest form factor. Install in matched pairs (RIMM 1/2, 3/4). Empty sockets need CRIMMs. ECC and non-ECC work, but mixing in a pair runs all non-ECC. Update the BIOS first. Total maximum memory is not documented.

IDE PRI hard drive connector (parallel ATA) HDD 3.5"
Parallel ATA/IDE only; no SATA, M.2 or NVMe. The 3.5" size is assumed and bay counts are unconfirmed. They likely differ between the small desktop and the mini-tower. Maximum drive capacity is not documented; older BIOSes may limit it, possibly to 128 GB.
