Dell PowerEdge R650 upgrades
1U server with dual-CPU support; memory and drives are upgradable, but the drive-bay layout is fixed by the backplane. Only registered ECC DDR4 works.
- DDR4 RDIMM/LRDIMM sockets (16 per CPU): 32 × DDR4 DIMM · up to 8.192 TB total · 3200 MT/s · registered (RDIMM) · ECC
- 3.5" hot-swap bays (4-bay backplane): 4 × HDD / SSD 3.5" (SATA / SAS) · up to 18 TB
- 2.5" hot-swap bays (8 or 10-bay backplane): 10 × SSD / HDD 2.5" (SATA / SAS / NVMe)
- BOSS-S1/S2 boot card (2 x M.2 SATA): 2 × SSD M.2 2280 (SATA / Proprietary) · up to 480 GB
- microSD (uSD) boot card: Flash card microSD (SD (UHS)) · up to 64 GB
DDR4 RDIMM/LRDIMM sockets (16 per CPU) 32 × DDR4 DIMM · up to 8.192 TB total · 3200 MT/s · registered (RDIMM) · ECC
Registered ECC only; UDIMMs are not supported. With one CPU only 16 slots work. RDIMM max is 64 GB per module (2 TB total); 256 GB LRDIMMs allow 8 TB with two CPUs. Speed depends on CPU. PMem 200 series is also supported.
