Dell PowerEdge 2550 upgrades
This 2001-era 2U server uses PC133 registered ECC SDRAM (4 sockets, 4GB max) and Ultra3 SCSI hot-plug drives. There are no M.2, SATA, NVMe, 2.5" or memory-card slots.
- DIMM sockets (PC133 registered ECC SDRAM): 4 × DIMM · up to 4 GB total · 133 MT/s · registered (RDIMM) · ECC
- 1" hot-plug SCSI drive bay: 4 × HDD 3.5" (Proprietary) · up to 73 GB

168-pin 3.3V PC133 registered ECC SDRAM, not DDR. Install in matched pairs (2 banks of 2). Do not use unbuffered or non-ECC modules. The RAID cache module is a separate, unbuffered type.

Ultra3 (U160) SCSI only, with no SATA, NVMe or M.2. The 3.5" form factor is inferred, not stated in the sources. Drives need Dell hot-plug sleds. Dell offered 18, 36 and 73GB drives. A fifth drive in the media bay needs Dell's upgrade kit. Split 2x2 backplane mode needs the optional daughter card.
