Dell PowerEdge 1650 upgrades
1U Pentium III-era server. It has no M.2, NVMe, SATA or memory card slots, and its two PCI riser slots have no PCIe. A host adapter card can add storage.
- DIMM socket (168-pin registered ECC PC133 SDRAM): 4 × DIMM · up to 4 GB total · 133 MT/s · registered (RDIMM) · ECC
- Internal Ultra3 SCSI drive bay (1-inch): 3 × HDD 3.5"
- Internal ATA/IDE drive (optional, non-hot-plug): 2 × HDD 3.5"
DIMM socket (168-pin registered ECC PC133 SDRAM) 4 × DIMM · up to 4 GB total · 133 MT/s · registered (RDIMM) · ECC
Uses 72-bit registered ECC PC133 SDRAM, not DDR. Install modules in matched pairs and fill bank 1 before bank 2. Dell says 4 GB max (4 x 1 GB); Kingston lists 2 GB, probably only the limit of what it sold. Minimum 256 MB.

Internal Ultra3 SCSI drive bay (1-inch) 3 × HDD 3.5"
Ultra3 SCSI drives on a SCSI backplane. The guide doesn't state the form factor, so 3.5" is inferred from 1-inch SCSI. Hot-plug needs the optional ROMB card. SATA and SSD drives don't connect natively.

Internal ATA/IDE drive (optional, non-hot-plug) 2 × HDD 3.5"
IDE drives are not supported in systems with a SCSI backplane, so check the unit's configuration. The guide doesn't state the form factor; 3.5" is an assumption. Not hot-pluggable.
