CPU is soldered (Ryzen 5 5600H / Ryzen 7 5800H, BGA, 45W) - no CPU socket or CPU upgrade path. Applies to G15 5515 (Ryzen, P105F) / G5 15 5515 only; the Intel G15 5511 is a different machine. Chassis disassembly requires ESD protection and removal of the bottom cover to reach all slots.

Officially capped at 2x 16GB (32GB total). Third-party teardown reports 2x 32GB (64GB) working since the Ryzen 5000 controller addresses 32GB modules, but Dell has not validated it - verify your return policy. Buy matched pairs for dual-channel; mixed 4+8GB runs in flex mode. DDR4-3200 CL22 1.2V non-ECC unbuffered only; faster modules just clock down to 3200 MT/s. Both slots are user-accessible under the bottom cover, no soldered memory on board.

2x M.2 2230/2280 NVMe Gen3 x4 slots 2 × SSD M.2 2230 / M.2 2280 (NVMe) · up to 2.048 TB
Both slots take 2230 or 2280, but the bracket is length-specific (2230->2230, 2280->2280) and only single-sided SSDs fit. Dell caps 2230 at 1TB and 2280 at 2TB (Kingston sells 4TB 2280 as compatible). Important: in single-SSD configs Dell says an additional drive is not supported - the second slot physically exists but usually lacks bracket and screw, so confirm before buying a second drive. No SATA, no 2.5" bay, no card reader.
