ASRock B450M Steel Legend (micro-ATX, 24.4x24.4 cm) is not the same as the ATX B450 Steel Legend (6 SATA, 2 M.2). CPU is socketed (no soldered CPU); all RAM is user-replaceable with 4 free DIMM slots.

Spec revision: current page says 128 GB (4x32 GB); the older manual and Kingston say 64 GB — 4x16 GB is the universally safe config, 128 GB needs 32 GB DIMMs plus a recent BIOS. Max 3533 MT/s is OC with Pinnacle Ridge; expect downclocking with 4 dual-rank DIMMs. ECC and non-ECC UDIMM both work (ECC on APUs only with PRO CPUs). Registered/buffered DIMMs unsupported. Populate A2/B2 first for dual channel.

M2_1 is NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 (x2 with Athlon APUs); M2_2 is SATA-only — a common buyer mistake. M2_2 shares lanes with SATA3_3: using one disables the other. No PCIe Gen4 (B450 limitation). M2_1 physically covers 2242/2260/2280 (2230 support is listed for M2_2; manual wording varies by revision). U.2 drives work via ASRock's U.2 kit. No drive bays/height limits on the board — those come from the case. Max drive capacity not officially stated.
