Acer Nitro 5 AN515-57 upgrades

CPU is soldered (BGA, 11th-Gen Intel Tiger Lake H45: i5-11400H / i7-11800H) — there is no CPU slot and no processor upgrade path. The manual is shared across several Nitro 5 generations, so verify your exact SKU: GPU determines M.2 slot 2 speed and Thunderbolt 4 presence varies by config (typically i7 models). No card reader. Wi-Fi is a replaceable M.2 2230 CNVi/PCIe module.

Acer officially caps total memory at 32 GB (2x16 GB DDR4-3200 CL22, 1.2V, non-ECC unbuffered); 2x32 GB (64 GB) is community-verified but unsupported. Buy matched pairs for dual channel — single-stick configs lose a lot of gaming performance. Mixing sizes works in flex mode; faster modules clock down to 3200 MT/s.

Slot 2 also accepts M.2 SATA drives; RAID 0 supported across both slots. Prefer single-sided 2280 drives — double-sided modules are a tight fit. No official capacity limit published.
